Thornton House Luxury Bed And Breakfast
Built in 1902 and originally named Orongo, it is a central Cambridge landmark with a Historic Places trust classification. It has been renovated to enhance not only its Victorian elegance but also modern comforts and conveniences.
The two guest rooms, both with en suites, are situated at one end of the house with our living space at the other. The Blue Room is romantic and inviting, the focal point being its antique brass bed. The Garden Room is a large, elegant room which opens onto a veranda overlooking the garden. It has a queen and single bed and a large (big enough for two) clawfoot bath.
Both rooms have been decorated using William Morris fabrics and wallpapers. Each has tea and coffee making facilities, home made biscuits, CD/radio, TV, quality linens, central heating, hair driers and toiletries.
Every morning we serve a memorable gourmet breakfast either in your room, in the dining area or alfresco in the garden. On occasions we provide a lunch, picnic basket or evening meal by negotiation. Alternatively, there are local restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance.

The Blue Room
Sleeps 2, $250 - $250 Per NightThe Blue Room has been recently redecorated and is warm and inviting, the focal point being it's antique brass bed. The finest linen and fittings have been used including crisp white cotton sheets and luxurious white towels and towelling robes. Tea and coffee making facilities, home- made biscuits and chocolates, CD/TV/radio, electric blankets, feather duvets and complimentary toiletries are all included. It has an ensuite bathroom with a shower only and can sleep a total of 2 guests. It has 1 bed (Queen) - Antique brass queen bed. Rate includes full cooked breakfasts from our seasonal menu
The Garden Room
Sleeps 2, $270 - $290 Per NightThe Garden Room is a large elegant room that opens out on to the veranda overlooking a secluded cottage garden. The ensuite includes a large (big enough for two) clawfoot bath. The finest linen and fittings have been used including crisp white cotton sheets and luxurious white towels and towelling robes. Tea and coffee making facilities, home- made biscuits and chocolates, CD/TV/radio, electric blankets, feather duvets and/or woollen blankets and complimentary toiletries are all included. It has an ensuite bathroom with a bath and a shower and can sleep a total of 3 guests. It has 2 beds - 1 Queen bed & 1 Single bed. Rate includes full cooked breakfasts from our seasonal menu
